Scientist Analytical

Charles River is seeking an exceptional, ambitious, innovative and highly motivated lab-based Senior Scientist to work in our Separation Sciences team at our Saffron Walden site, purifying a diverse range of Medicinal Chemistry small molecules in order to advance drug discovery projects for our clients. 

We are seeking a Senior Separations Scientist who has significant industrial experience with a degree or PhD level qualification and a passion for applying scientific expertise to drug discovery collaborations. Adept in working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will need to possess the flexibility required to work in a goal-oriented environment, as well as:

 

  • A strong scientific and practical background in automated purification services / UPLC/HPLC/ SFC/ Mass spectrometry instrumentation, with hands on approach to fault finding and generation of high quality data. Knowledge of MassLynx, Chemstation, Chromscope and/or Trilution would be advantageous.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, independently and to tight deadlines.
  • Dynamic workload prioritisation, problem solving, clear communication and multitasking.
  • Identifying and implementing new technologies and creative approaches to increase effectiveness, engaging support and promoting at a department level.
  • Enthusiastic approach to mentoring of junior team members-providing scientific input to guide purification experiments and data interpretation.
  • To operate in a safe manner at all times and to comply with CRL site-based guidelines
  • To work within the framework of the Charles River core values of Collaborate, Lead, Own, Care
