Job Summary

We are looking for a Cagewash Technician 2 to join our Insourcing Solutions team, located in Washington, DC.

In the Cagewash Technician 2 role, you will clean, sanitize, maintain, and repair all animal caging materials and cagewash facilities/equipment as required. 

Additional duties include:


  • Oversee daily work assignments of cagewash staff, ensure completion.
  • Provide mentorship, re-training, new hire training, and group training to staff. 
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on cagewash and autoclaves, including inspection of cleaning filters and roto-arms.
  • Conduct trouble shooting on equipment and report problems; communicate problems with the manufacturer when necessary.
  • Ensure cagewash and animal holding facilities are kept in a clean and organized manner.
  • Assist with the receipt, stocking, and maintenance of supply inventories.
  • Prepare and submit required written records, charts, logs, and inventories.
  • Actively interact with customers to resolve requests, inquiries, and complaints, and to provide technical assistance.

Job Qualifications

The following are minimum requirements related to the Cagewash Technician position:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 9 months successful performance in Cagewash facility operations. experience.



The pay range for this position is $20 - $22 per hour.  Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
