Job Summary

The Scientist, R&D will work under the guidance of the Scientific Director to develop new processes, conduct research to meet strategic marketing initiatives and further the growth and development of Cell Solutions.


Essential Responsibilities:
•    Evaluate and provide technical guidance on new processes for cell isolation, enrichment, and analysis.  
•    Research, develop and implement new equipment to improve upon current processes.
•    Write and develop SOPS for current and new products, processes, and equipment.
•    Explore, design, evaluate and optimize processes to demonstrate the feasibility of potential new products and technologies.
•    Design, formalize, execute, analyze, and present experiments to meet strategic marketing objectives for the organization. 
•    Contribute to assay and process development, run novel cell isolations, assays and experiments, carefully document method and materials, and communicate findings.
•    Research, design and execute evaluation studies of new technologies for cell therapy starting material manufacturing.
•    Work on process development and improvements for Cell Solutions products. 
•    Manage inventory and supplies for R&D department: submit orders as necessary to ensure all required tasks can be completed, track outstanding orders, unpack/ date / number received supplies in an organized manner.
•    Take the lead on research and development necessary for custom client projects. 
•    Work with Scientific Director and Product Management Team to create an organized path for product creation and launch.
•    Train and ensure staff comply with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality systems, including current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and current Good Tissue Practice (cGTPs), as required. 
•    Report, review and approve error/accident reports, deviations, related root cause analyses, corrective actions, preventive actions and follow-up, as applicable.  
•    Work with Isensix team to monitor system and respond to alerts.
•    Present and describe Cell Solutions products and processes to other departments, including sales and marketing.

Job Qualifications

•    BS/BA or MS in Life Science, or related field.
•    Must have 5+ years’ experience in related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
•    Must have cell processing experience in industry, specific experience with cGMP or GLP preferred.
•    Experience with primary human cell culture and functional cell assays preferred.
•    Must have extensive experience with multicolor flow cytometry, specific experience with analysis using MACSQuant preferred.
•    Must understand biological and immunological principles and be able to apply these principles to laboratory experiments.
•    Must keep accurate and detailed laboratory records of all laboratory related activities.
•    Ability to advance projects through from inception to conclusion. 
•    Proficient use of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Vizio.
