Job Summary


We are seeking an Environmental Health &Safety - Occupational Athletic Trainer in the EH&S Department for our Mattawan, MI location. 

The Environmental Health &Safety- Occupational Athletic Trainer duties include:

  • Onsite care and management of work injuries and illnesses including prevention, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation.
  • Assess risk of injury, perform ergonomic evaluation and coaching, self-care implementation and overall wellness promotion.
  •  Establish strategic goals that match company services and resources to the needs of the employees.
  •  Exceptional ability to engage employees in an industrial environment to create a positive culture.
  • Advances professional and technical knowledge by completing educational workshops, obtaining advanced certifications, completing virtual courses, collaborating with other professionals, and benchmarking state of the art practices
  • Work directly with mangers and supervisors to establish preventative measures to reduce workplace injuries
  • Evaluate processes and recommend solutions and provide support for implementation to reduce risks of workplace muscular skeletal injuries.
  • Develop a marketing plan for the promotion of company services
  • Develop, distribute, and deliver educational materials to support employee engagement of services
  • Work closely with onsite Clinic staff and to develop processes for collaboration around internal referrals for employees presenting with discomfort or pain and develop return to work procedures.

Job Qualifications


  • Bachelor's/Master's degree with 3 or more years of relevant experience in Occupational Athletic Training in an occupational setting.
  • Must be BOC certified and possess state athletic training licensure certification or registration
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Able to focus, organize and prioritize delivery of services
  • Ability to guide, coach or influence others to embrace doing stretching and strengthening routines, and adopting new postures, or processes that are less stressful on their bodies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Ergonomic principles
  • Ability to communicate verbally with individuals and groups and in writing at all levels inside and outside the organization.
  • Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Computer skills, commensurate with Essential Functions, including the ability to learn a validated system.
  • Ability to work under specific time constraints.
