Job Summary

 

The IT Disaster Recovery Lead is a position within the Charles River Laboratories Global Technology organization that is responsible for the ongoing operational management of the Disaster Recovery Program. This candidate should have a minimum of five years experience in disaster recovery and business continuity procedures supporting medium to large businesses. This position will work across IT infrastructure, development, and business units to identify recovery and continuity needs, enhance and or create supporting documentation, and coordinate the implementation of proper testing. The scope of this work covers technology deployed across global data centers, branch offices and a growing public cloud environment.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Develop the strategy and supporting roadmap for the Global Technology disaster recovery program 
•    Work with technical teams to identify requirements and develop viable test plans and recovery solutions, including the sequence of restoration
•    Accountable for program governance activities, including yearly disaster recovery exercises
•    Document and maintain detailed playbooks to be followed during disaster recovery testing or real-time events
•    Drive adherence to all compliance, regulatory and continuity requirements 
•    Partner across business units to ensure compliance with continuity policies 
•    The scope of work covers technology deployed across global data centers, branch offices and public cloud environments

Job Qualifications

 


•    College degree or relevant work experience 
•    5 or more years of experience in IT disaster recovery and business continuity planning
•    IT operations or data center operations background
•    Thorough understanding of public cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP)
•    Strong project management skills
•    Strong verbal and written skills, ability to create and maintain accurate and detailed documentation
•    Industry Certifications a plus (CBCP, MBCP, DRCS)
 

Compensation Data

 

The pay range for this position is $120,000 - $140,000 USD. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
