For our team in Den Bosch we are currently hiring a:


Technician in vitro ADME metabolism-dermal absorption


Department:  
The Discovery & Environmental Sciences department consists of approximately 90 employees. Within this department, research is carried out into the safety of existing and new substances. Characteristic of the work is the great diversity of tests, test substances, customers, and collaborations. 

The section in vitro ADME (IVA):
This section is a young and dynamic section that investigates the Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism and Excretion of various compounds (e.g., new medicines, (agro-) chemicals and consumer products). 

For our in vitro studies we make use of various non-animal test systems including human skin tissue, cell cultures, microsomes and supporting analytical techniques (e.g radio-HPLC/ LC-MS/MS, qPCR). Due to the increasing workload, we have an opportunity for a technician: in vitro ADME metabolism / dermal absorption.

 

About your role:

As a technician you work in a dynamic team under supervision of a Study Director. 

You will mainly be responsible for the performance of a diversity of in vitro metabolism studies which will include performance of the assays, sample pre-treatment and sample analysis with LC-MS/MS. In addition, you are involved in the implementation and validation of new studies.

In addition, you will also assist in the performance of in vitro dermal absorption studies using human skin tissue and radiolabelled or non-radiolabelled formulations. Specific tasks include a.o. radiochemical purity performance with radio-HPLC, preparation, testing and analysis of (topical) formulations and the execution of in vitro dermal absorption studies, incl. processing of data. 

 

What is required:  
•    A relevant HBO education (e.g. HLO); with a focus on analytical chemistry / biochemistry.
•    32-40 hours per week availability.
•    Experience with LC-MS equipment, LC-MS method development and validation.  
•    Interest in identification of unknown compounds; familiarity with Empower and Masslynx.
•    Affinity and experience with biological systems.
•    You have a hands-on attitude and ‘out-of-the-box’ mentality and enjoy improvising and troubleshooting.
•    You have a pro-active, results-oriented, enthusiastic, dynamic and flexible attitude.
•    You have good communication and presentation skills, both in Dutch and English.

 

Nice to have:
•    Understanding of Good Laboratory Principles (GLP).
•    Certification to work with radioactive materials.
•    Experience with or knowledge of the preparation of (topical) formulations.
