Job Summary

Performs technical tasks in the conduct of in vivo research studies or support services in accordance with good animal welfare practices. Prepares, collects and records research data and specimens in compliance with applicable regulations and SOPs.

 

We are seeking a Necropsy Technician for our Necropsy department site located in Boisbriand in Canada.

 

The following are responsibilities related to the Necropsy Technician :

  • Perform technical procedures used in necropsy for all species and routine histology;
  • Collect and preserve animal tissue samples at necropsy (tissue trimming, organ weight, description of observed lesions;
  • Perform routine processing of tissues to produce microscopic slides (tissue trimming, operation of tissue processor, embedding, microtome cutting or grinding, verification of the quality of slides).

 

The following are minimum qualifications related to the Necropsy Technician position :

  • Collegial diploma in Animal Health, Bioecology, Biotechnology or equivalent;
  • Reading of english is required. Bilingualism is an asset;
  • Relevant experience in a Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) environment;
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
