Job Summary
We are looking for a Security Officer for our Safety Assessment site based in Tranent.
The standard working pattern will be four consecutive twelve hour shifts followed by four days off in an eight day rotating cycle, comprising of alternate sets of day and night shifts.
The following are responsibilities related to the Security Officer role:
- Controlling staff and visitor entry and exit from Charles River.
- Custody, issue and control of keys
- Building and site foot patrols
- Initiating early response to emergencies
- Monitoring CCTV feed from multiple facilities
- Monitoring and reacting accordingly to the intruder detection and surveillance system across multiple facilities
- Monitoring and reacting accordingly to any automatic fire detection system alarms across multiple facilities
- Carrying out periodic testing of the automatic fire detection system
- Responding to environmental monitoring system alarms and maintaining records across multiple facilities
- Maintaining records and documentation applicable to the security task
- Undertaking site maintenance duties as required (snow clearing etc)
- To participate in overtime to cover colleague annual leave/sickness as required.
The following are minimum requirements related to the Security Officer position:
- Previous experience of working in a security environment is essential
- You will be enthusiastic, an effective communicator and have proven written, verbal and numeric skills.
- The ability to work routine shift patterns is essential, as is the ability to follow standard operating procedures during any potential emergency.
- Keyboard and basic IT skills are essential with experience of Microsoft Windows based databases
- Act as the first point of contact for any visitor/client
- Security staff must create an excellent first impression therefore proven customer service skills and the ability to deal with people at all levels are essential.
- Current driving license is essential
A uniform will be provided for the successful candidate.
Salary for this position is £29,952 per annum.
