Job Summary

Direct and oversee total company Treasury operations including daily cash activity, bank accounts, global cash investments, debt service, share repurchase programs, global intercompany netting program, SOX & policy compliance, foreign exchange hedging strategy and hedge program management, treasury-related financials and footnotes for SEC reporting, global pension reporting, Treasury integration representative on M&A and divestiture projects and all Treasury-related projects. Establish relationships with lender banks and credit rating agencies to gain knowledge and insight to make recommendations on debt/capital markets.

This position will be a remote role (work from home office) with occasional travel to Boston and New York.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

⦁    Direct the global hedging program, including evaluating foreign exchange exposures at each Charles River business and recommending a hedging strategy that is in accordance with FASB. Ensure that the policy is up to date and standard documentation is reviewed and approved by accounting & internal/external auditors. Oversee the execution and effectiveness of the hedges.⦁    Review daily cash activity for our main US and Canadian bank accounts.⦁    Review and approve global investment portfolio monthly.  Review any new investment vehicles before obtaining approval from Treasurer/CFO. Ensure global investments are compliant with corporate policy.⦁    Create/update US cash flow forecast.  Make recommendations for maintaining target liquidity levels and maintaining target leverage ratios. Make recommendations for surplus cash through investment returns and/or reduce interest expense through debt repayments. ⦁    Review/approve GAAP/Non-GAAP interest accrual calculations for to submission to accounting. Create/update 3rd party/intercompany interest income and expense forecasts.⦁    Review account analysis summary report including trend analysis, make recommendations and direct staff on how to proceed with cost reductions as a focus.⦁    Review monthly cash & investment report before obtaining approval from Treasurer/CFO.  Evaluate global cash balances with local finance staff, make European pooling and repatriation recommendations for OUS surplus cash. Coordinate any intercompany cash movements and repatriation projects with the Tax department and Corporate Accounting.⦁    Manage Credit Agreement issues including compliance and amendments with Agent Bank and internal/external Legal counsel. ⦁    Oversee debt covenant compliance certificates are prepared properly and issued timely.⦁    Review all netting payments and FX contracts.⦁    Collaborate with bank credit syndicate for all aspects of treasury management including credit, FX, investments, and derivatives.⦁    Review all invoices before obtaining approval from Treasurer/CFO.⦁    Oversee the execution/renewal of Letters of Credit.⦁    Oversee and maintain the FIS Integrity Treasury Workstation and Bank Management System.  ⦁    Ensure operational compliance with Sarbanes Oxley, credit agreements and corporate policy.⦁    Attend Investment Committee meetings.  Provide and present to the committee global update on pension plan performance and pension governance.  Work with custodial banks on any issues, assist Accounting with annual pension financials and prepare quarterly summary reports on the executive deferred compensation plan.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

⦁    Continually seek ways to improve EPS such as evaluating interest rate swaps, refinancing if rates are more attractive, conversations with bankers, share repurchase program, convertible debentures, etc.⦁    Manage share repurchase program. Conduct analysis and recommend optimal repurchases.⦁    Work with auditors on SOX 404 walk-throughs, testing and compliance.⦁    Prepare Treasury-related footnotes for 10Q & 10k’s.⦁    Develop and maintain corporate policies including investment, bank account, foreign exchange and interest rate hedging policies as required.⦁    Review submissions to IRS.⦁    Direct the Treasury related integration efforts for all executed M&A and divestiture deals and work with cross functional project teams to handle all Treasury related matters.     ⦁    Direct activities of assigned group(s) to ensure optimum performance of the group/function.⦁    Responsible for personnel management activities such as: scheduling, personnel actions (hiring, promotions, transfers, etc.), training and development, providing regular direction and feedback on performance, disciplinary actions and preparing and delivering annual performance and salary reviews.⦁    Develop short- and long-range operating objectives, organizational structure, staffing requirements and succession plans.⦁    Integrate activities with those of other major organizational units (e.g. segments, departments, functions).⦁    Develop and recommend departmental budget and authorize expenditures.⦁    Develop and oversee the implementation of departmental training programs, including orientation.⦁    Support the policy of equal employment opportunity through affirmative action in personnel actions.⦁    Ensure adherence to pertinent regulatory requirements and to departmental policies, practices and procedures [SOPs, safety procedures and biosafety protocols].⦁    Perform special projects and all other related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

⦁    Education:  Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in finance, accounting or related discipline.⦁    Experience:  Ten to fifteen years of directly related global treasury experience.    ⦁    An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.⦁    Certification/Licensure:  CTP or CPA preferred.⦁    Other:  Strong communications and organization skills required.  Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.  

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:⦁    Must regularly operate a computer and occasionally operate other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. ⦁    Must regularly communicate with employees/customers; must be able to exchange accurate information.⦁    Must occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:⦁    General office working conditions; the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

Comments:⦁    This position requires occasional domestic/international travel. Position will be remote (work from home office) with occasional travel to Boston and New York.

Compensation Data

The pay range for this position is $160,000 – $200,000 USD. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, and location.
