About the opportunity:
Within Discovery at Charles River, we hold our own large screening libraries of small molecules for delivery of High Throughput Screening campaigns, along with proprietary libraries for our clients. Within the Compound Management Group we manage, curate and analyse the collection, using industry-leading automation and UPLC MS to deliver a fast, efficient, and quality service.
We are currently seeking an individual to join our team in a new opportunity as a Senior Technical Specialist – High Throughput Analysis at our Saffron Walden, Essex site.
The successful candidates will work as part of the Library Management team with the responsibility of ensuring the delivering of quality data through UPLC-MS/HPLC analysis; have a passion for science and technology; experience across a board range of UPLC-MS / HPLC vendors to supporting small molecule analysis would be beneficial. You will collaborate within CRL’s Enabling Platform division alongside our ADME and Cell Culture, striving to accelerate drug discovery.
You will work in a challenging and dynamic environment with the opportunity to develop skills in project planning and advanced robotics, contributing directly to the progression of multiple drug-discovery projects.
Profile and Requirements
- Demonstrate significant in-depth technical expertise with a range of UPLC-MS / HPLC instrumentation, ideally within a drug discovery based analytical lab environment.

Experience of multiple vendor software such as Waters MassLynx, Thermo Scientific Chromeleon, Virscidian, for data processing and reporting.

Educated to degree level within a scientific discipline.

Prior experience of working in compound management or compound analysis environments, either from industry or academic settings.

Strong organisation and time management skills alongside an inbuilt flexibility to adapt to change.
-
Excellent communication skills; these will be essential to engage and inspire our customers and be effective within a multi-disciplinary process whilst working in a matrix environment.

Experience Scheduling / planning workloads for internal teams and liaising with internal / external customers.

Possess project leadership / operational lead experience.

Experience with SQL query writing or a programming language highly advantageous.

Familiarity with LIMS, KNIME and Mosaic for order processing and inventory management desirable.
