Job Summary

A Building Automation System Operator is responsible for:  maintaining the building environment, environmental monitoring systems and controls; performing maintenance functions; and recommending improvements.  The individual in this role works with minimal supervisor on complex projects and handles work orders for facility equipment control issues in a highly regulated environment.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the building environment, environmental monitoring systems and controls.
  • Perform equipment maintenance functions associated with monitoring of a laboratory research environment.
  • Make recommendations to improve efficiency or operations.
  • Assist with the design of new facility heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) and other monitored systems.
  • Remediate routine/nonroutine work orders and facility equipment control issues.
  • Coordinator correspondence for corrective action preventative action (CAPA) issues for Good Laboratory Procedures (GLP) documentation of errors and deviations.
  • Remediate HVAC deviations and repairs encountered in the facility.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • HS/GED/Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree with 2 or more years of relevant experience; contract research organization experience preferred.
  • Building control system experience required.
  • HVAC Certification required.
  • EPA Certified preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve, make decisions, work effectively independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of plant mechanical functions, STandar Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies, GLPs and associated requirements.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing at all levels inside and outside the organization.
  • Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Computer skills, commensurate wit Essential Duties and Responsiblities, including the ability to learn a validated systems.
  • Ability to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include, but not liminted to evenings, weekends, extended shifts, and/or extra shifts; sometimes on short notice.
  • Ability to work under time constraints.
  • Ability to push, pull, lift 50lbs +.

 

The pay range for this position is $28-35/hour.  Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
