Job Summary

 

As a Laboratory Assistant for our Pathology team located in Laval, you will provide general technical support within laboratories on company premises, as required, and carry out duties according to Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) at all times

 

In this role, primary responsibilities include:

 

  • Perform reception, verification and storage of samples using the internal manual system and the Watson LIMS system
  • Prepare samples for analysis in the laboratories
  • Keep the samples well organized within the freezers and ensure proper documentation
  • Perform maintenance/cleaning of the fridges and freezers
  • Keep the working area clean and organized
  • Perform any other reasonable tasks that may be required

 

Key elements

 

Here are the minimum qualifications and we will train you for the rest:

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Reading of English is required. Bilingualism is preferable
  • Good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Detail oriented and meticulous
  • Ability to work under time constraints and to adapt to change
  • Working knowledge of related computer applications

 

Role Specific Information:

 

  • Location: Laval / Free parking / Near the subway Montmorency
  • Able to Lift up to 15 kg
  • Salary: $16.25/h
  • Schedule: Day schedule, Monday to Friday, 8:00 - 16:15, flexibility is required
  • Permanent position as of the hiring, full-time 37.5hrs per week

About Safety Assessment
Charles River is committed to helping our partners expedite their preclinical drug development with exceptional safety assessment services, state-of-the-art facilities and expert regulatory guidance. From individual specialty toxicology and IND enabling studies to tailored packages and total laboratory support, our deeply experienced team can design and execute programs that anticipate challenges and avoid roadblocks for a smooth, efficient journey to market.  Each year approximately 300 investigational new drug (IND) programs are conducted in our Safety Assessment facilities.
