Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced International Tax Manager for a transactional and compliance tax position. While Charles River's corporate office is based in Wilmington, MA, this role can be remote. The International Tax Manager will assist with transactional aspects of corporate tax including strategic investments, M&A, and planning projects including assistance with due diligence, transaction document review, integration and restructuring during mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. The person in this role will also assist with US international tax compliance. 

 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  
•    Assist with all transactional tax matters including strategic investments, M&A, divestments, and international tax planning projects, including subpart F, GILTI and BEAT minimization, repatriation, intercompany funding and finance, foreign tax credit and foreign source income planning, legal entity rationalization and non-US ETR planning.  
•    Manage the tax aspects of integration for acquisitions including interacting and effectively communicating with the business units and cross functional groups within the company including Corporate Accounting, Legal and FP&A.  
•    Assist with the US international income tax compliance, and quarterly and year end provision requirements as they relate to foreign operations including computation of subpart F income, GILTI and FDII, earnings & profits, foreign tax credit and all related forms, disclosures and schedules.
•    Monitor guidance from US tax reform and assist with planning opportunities, compliance and modelling resulting from new legislation. 
•    Monitor world-wide changes to international tax laws and assess impact to CRL.
•    Support on international tax aspects of IRS audits and worldwide income tax audits, including transfer pricing tax audits. 
•    Research and advise business divisions and local finance team on global withholding tax requirements.
•    Review and advise on tax considerations relating to third-party agreements.
•    Challenge existing processes, systems, reports, data analysis and outputs and suggest necessary changes to drive process improvements.
•    Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

•    Education:  Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline. Masters in Taxation or J.D. preferred.
•    Experience:  Minimum of five years directly related experience.
•    An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
•    Certification/Licensure:  State bar membership or CPA.
•    Other:  Strong leadership, verbal and written communication, project management and organization skills required.   Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
•    Regularly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
•    Must occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
•    Regularly provides information to and receives information from/through various technologies, media, sources and contacts. Must be able to accurately exchange accurate information in these situations.
