Sr. Director, Global Applications Delivery

Job Summary

The CRL IT organization is looking for an energetic professional to build and lead a Global Application Service Delivery practice within Project Delivery. In this role, they would have responsibility for the delivery of technology thru new implementations, acquisition integrations, upgrades and large enhancements for applications such as SAP and Salesforce.com. The Sr. Director, Global Application Delivery will work closely with other IT service areas to deliver business technology with speed, quality and at the best possible cost. Through excellence in Project Delivery, they will help to achieve and maintain a high level of employee engagement, customer satisfaction and team productivity.
 

  • Accountable for building and maintaining a high performing team.
  • Accountable for defining and enabling the practices that deliver Global Application delivery services for Project Delivery.
  • Accountable for maximizing the flow of work through Global Application delivery services while delivering on our value promise:  on-time, on-budget, on-quality and on-scope.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Team selection and induction: Recruit best fit talent.
  • Build Relationships: Build the personal connections that foster trust, commitment, and teamwork.
  • Teambuilding: Encourage activities and dialogue to motivate team members to increase the overall performance of the team.
  • Coaching & Mentoring: Develop team members so they can perform and deliver the best possible results; Mentor team members two levels removed for purposes of development and succession.
  • Context setting: Communicate mid and long-term strategy and goals of the organization and any relevant background necessary to understand task assignment.
  • Planning: Ensure team members understand the business value of what they’re doing and can articulate it in planning sessions.
  • Commitments: Ensure commitments are met.
  • Task Assignment & Adjustment: Lead team by providing a clear articulation of direction and expectations (PC/QSTR); Control the level of work in progress to optimize flow for each direct report, adjusting to changing conditions.
  • Monitoring: Measure the team’s performance against organizational goals.
  • Continuous Improvement: Ensure continuous improvement of operations (POOGI – Process of ongoing improvement).
  • Appraisal: Provide feedback on performance.
  • De-selection/dismissal: Remove team members from roles as appropriate.
  • Adhere to pertinent regulatory requirements and to company policies, practices and procedures.
  • Manage financial budgets and forecasts to remain within commitments while achieving goals.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned. 
     

Requirements


The following are minimum requirements related to the Sr. Director, Global Applications Delivery position.

Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in computer science, engineering, business administration or related discipline.

Experience: Minimum of twelve (12) years application delivery experience. Consulting and ERP experience preferred.

Other:

  • Effective communication skills for large, multi-national audiences.
  • Management acumen – Solid understanding and demonstrated ability to:
    • Build and manage a high performing team.
    • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills including collaboration, influencing & aligning.
    • High Emotional Intelligence (EQ).
    • Relationship building.                                                                                                                                                                      
  • Business acumen – Experience managing budgets, understanding of customer value.
  • Operational Performance – Understanding of and/or experience with Theory of Constraints (TOC).
  • Experience and/or understanding of Critical Chain Project Management (CCPM).
