Job Summary

We are seeking a Payroll Analyst to join our Corporate Payroll team located in Wilmington, MA. 

 

The Payroll Analyst is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of U.S. payroll, resolving complex payroll issues, analyzing and auditing data, and researching and interpreting regulatory requirements.  Maintain a strong internal control environment for payroll. Assist with implementation of new systems and integration of newly acquired business units. In the absence of the payroll manager, successfully execute the payroll cycle.

  • Analyze, audit, reconcile and resolve complex payroll processing and employee payroll issues to ensure smooth payroll processing.
  • Process and upload Payroll journal entries for US and Canada, using ADP GL.
  • Act as liaison between finance and Payroll related to inquiries about general ledger issues.  
  • Ensure payroll reporting and payments are compliant with company policy, generally accepted accounting principles, and federal, state and IRS regulations.
  • Research and interpret federal and state regulatory requirements, communicate changes to appropriate management, and work closely with ADP tax filing services.
  • Resolve tax, withholding, garnishment, and wage/hour issues for payroll processing.
  • Create and map all new benefit deductions to ensure proper taxing of benefits on the ADP-payroll side.
  • Work closely with SAP IT team on any payroll configuration issues.
  • Responsible for testing of enhancements and FLSA adjustments in SAP.
  • Audit data and resolve variances. 
  • Assist with implementation of new systems.
  • Assist with integration of newly acquired business units.
  • Provide reports to HR, accounting and management. Generate ad-hoc queries.
  • Respond to auditing and regulatory inquiries.
  • Maintain all required records and archives.
  • Serve as back-up for the Sr. Payroll Manager.
  • Provide back-up and assistance to Corporate Payroll Administrators as needed.
  • Serve as department expert on systems-related processes such as uploads and reporting library.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.

 

The following are minimum requirements for the Payroll Analyst position. 

  • Education:  Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in finance, accounting or related discipline.
  • Experience:  Three to five years of directly related experience in a multi-state environment.   
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
  • Certification/Licensure:  CPP Preferred.
  • Other:  Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills, and have the ability to prioritize. Must have a high level of proficiency in auditing, reconciliation and controls, and good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Must be able to maintain the confidentially of employee payroll data. Must be able to work closely and effectively with a diverse employee population. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (to include Excel, Outlook, Word and Access)  required.  Experience utilizing SAP, ADP software (PCPW, Pay Specialist and Streamline) and PeopleSoft preferred.  Experience processing Canadian payroll preferred
