Job Summary

We are seeking a Lead Master Data Specialist for our IT Master Data Service Delivery Group site located Wilmington, MA.

 

The Lead Master Data Specialist will be responsible for developing, maintaining and testing Master Data transactional data within our ERP system and Master Data Management (MDM) systems. This includes supporting the data conversion efforts associated with system deployments and acquisition integration activities. The analyst will work closely with business leaders, functional leaders, organizational units, and subject matter experts to ensure the health of data.  Solid technical skills blended with a value-to-business mindset are key to success in this role.

 

The following are responsibilities related to the Lead Master Data Specialist position:

 

  • Create and manage Master Data elements (Customer, Materials/products, Vendor, Pricing etc. including hierarchies) across MDM and ERP Systems.
  • Manage global master data across all sites and businesses in partnership with operational data owners.
  • Develop and test functional specifications for system changes
  • Assist with SAP configuration activities related to supported functional area(s).
  • Ensure optimal data structure within assigned areas to meet functional needs
  • Develop and deliver the necessary training for all users in their respective areas.
  • Ensure data completeness, integrity and accuracy, including providing quality assurance over data entered by others.
  • Develop and/or update, deploy, and align Master Data standards across geographies and business areas. 
  • May oversee the work of other implementation and production support staff and/or consultants
  • Assist with updating Business Processes/SOPs to align with changes in master data standards. 
  • Create consistent master data KPIs across all applications and analyze and report as required. 
  • Provide the training and support to all colleagues in creating and understanding use of data within ERP and operational systems; identify impacted users. 
  • Serve as super-user for material, vendor and customer data. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve assigned Service Desk incidents in a timely fashion related to data issues; update tickets accordingly.
  • Adhere to internal procedures and controls as required by Sarbanes Oxley. 
  • Partner with colleagues and other functional teams on opportunities to reduce data errors. 
  • Work with Sales, Finance and Operations groups to continually improve processes.
  • Maintain an understanding of source data and appropriate data ownership, governance and stewardship.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards
  • Serve as a tester for MDM system changes/enhancements.

 

The following are minimum qualifications related to the Lead Master Data Specialist position:

 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in business, computer science or related discipline required.  MBA preferred.
  • Experience: 7+ years of Web Technology experience including administration, technical support,  and analysis within a large size organization
  • Experience managing WIP (incl. reducing multi-tasking)
  • Communication skills – oral and written
  • Customer service skills 
  • Skill in effectively partnering with technical and non-technical resources
  • Understanding of regulations applicable to IT Service Delivery - Global Applications (GxP, SOX, GDPR, etc)
