Job Summary


We are seeking an Embryology Lab Supervisor for our Embryology Department located in Wilmington, MA.
The Embryology Lab Supervisor will be responsible for the following:

  • Supervising all laboratory personnel in daily operations of the Embryology Laboratory.
  • Embryo handling and manipulation: Execute routine transgenic mice job assignments (superovulation by hormone injections, isolation, collection, ES cell, cytoplasmic, or pronuclear microinjection of fertilized eggs and re-implantation). 
  • Assisting in ensuring high quality standard of all Product and Services within Embryology and Model Creation Portfolio. 
  • Preparing and performing complex quality control audits of customer project status. Keeping track of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) of embryology program.
  • Working with manager or approved personnel to develop, test and implement new innovations to keep the embryology program competitive in the industry. 
  • Assisting with implementation of new technologies. 
  • Actively involved in writing, testing, revising and training SOPs in all aspects of Embryology and Model Creation. 
  • Providing daily supervision of personnel and operations to ensure achievement of departmental goals and levels. 
  • Independently handle routine personnel-related issues in partnership with Manager and Human Resources.

The following are Minimum Requirements related to the Embryology Supervisor Supervisor role:


  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in Embryology, Biology or related discipline.
  • 2+ years' hands on experience in Embryology including rodent IVF, rederivation and sperm/embryo cryopreservation.
  • 2+  years’ experience in transgenic mouse production and microinjection.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
  • Effective Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook) 
Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk, hear and work/type at a computer.
  • The employee frequently is required to stand.
  • The employee is regularly required to walk and use a microscope.
  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and with computers and is regularly exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
