Job Summary

We are seeking an Associate Operations Manager for our Insourcing Solutions Department based in Wilmington, MA.

Acts as Corporate liaison to designated contract business clients to assess contract performance- including meeting or exceeding standards with respect to animal health and welfare, facilities condition, sanitation levels and facility security.  Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure efficient operations. Provides general direction to and review of managers in various functional areas, groups and/or operations, etc. Develops/supports corporate and/or organizational policies and authorizes the implementation of these policies.  Supervises personnel and operations to maintain performance levels consistent with and according to client and company standards. Independently handles routine personnel-related issues; assists in the handling of complex personnel-related issues. Liaises with clients to ensure satisfaction with employee performance.

The following are minimum qualifications related to the Associate Operations Manager position:

Education:  Bachelors Degree in Animal Science or related field.
Experience:  Minimum of three years in a laboratory animal facility of which two years is of management experience
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
Certification/Licensure:  AALAS certification at the Laboratory Animal Technologist level (LATG)
Other: Working knowledge of laboratory animal facilities operations, IVIS systems and technical work including dosing, injections and collections.  Working knowledge of laboratory animal equipment and supplies, including cagewash, autoclave, and caging systems for a variety of common laboratory animals and personal protective equipment requirements. Ability to effectively follow verbal and written instructions and exhibit interpersonal skills that are conducive to effective communication and that contribute to a congenial work environment. Maintain positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner with coworkers, research staff, and managers. Strong organization skills and attention to detail. Strong written and verbal English communication skills. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Office, word processing and database record keeping required.
