Job Summary

 

We are seeking for an Intern for our Legal group located in Wilmington, MA

 

As an intern in the Legal Department, You will be working directly with and supporting in-house attorneys, performing a variety of duties (including  document preparation, research, litigation support, etc.) on specified, recurring legal projects and/or tasks in areas such as:

 

  • Commercial agreements and licensing
  • Corporate minute book maintenance
  • Corporate transactions
  • Employment and labor matters
  • Intellectual property
  • Governmental contracting
  • Real estate matters
  • SEC filings

 

The following are minimum requirements related to the Legal Department Internship position.

 

  • Student must be currently enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a Law Degree
  • Completion of Sophomore year
  • Minimum GPA of 2.8
  • Ability to fulfill a minimum of a 12 week internship within May – August time period
  • Ability to work approximately forty (40) hours per week during this period
  • Effective communication and listening skills in a teamwork environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects with a strong attention to detail

 

Job Summary

Performs secretarial and administrative/clerical duties as they relate to legal work, and possesses a knowledge of and expertise in those functions peculiar to legal work, such as preparing documentation for loans (deeds of trust, promissory notes, financial statements, releases, reconveyances); preparing correspondence relating to litigation (pleadings, court forms, reports, etc.); and preparing contracts involving leases, licenses, purchases, sales, real estate, employment, insurance, and other matters. Effectively utilizes specialized legal information resources, including the law library, state and federal regulations, code sections, legal decisions, and Commerce Clearing House volumes.

The Corporate Functions provide operational support across Charles River in areas such as Human Resources, Finance, IT, Legal, Sales, Quality Assurance, Marketing, and Corporate Development. They partner with their colleagues across the company to develop and drive strategies and to set global standards. The functions are essential to providing a bridge between strategic vision and operational readiness, to ensure ongoing functional innovation and capability improvement.
