Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Test Engineer for our Information Technology team. This is a remote based role, with occasional travel to central Scotland.

The Senior Test Engineer will be responsible for implementing Testing Strategy at Agile squad level and contributing to its relentless continuous improvement. They will be an experienced Testing practitioner and quality assurance champion, working as part of an integrated multi-functional Agile team. They understand the imperative of an “automate first” approach to Testing within a Digital world and are committed to this principle. They are passionate about technology, excited about the impact of emerging innovations and relish working in a constantly evolving environment.


The following are minimum requirements related to the Senior Test Engineer position.

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in computer science / engineering or equivalent work experience 
  • Extensive experience in a Test Engineering role (or equivalent e.g. Software Engineer)
  • Hands-on experience using test automation tools within an agile environment
  • A solid understanding of testing principles and their application within a digital change environment
  • Agile Testing experience with knowledge of frameworks/methodologies and use of ALM tools (e.g. Azure DevOps, Jira)
  • Familiar with DevOps concepts and practices
  • Ability to write/execute automated test scripts
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs and proficient in writing tests for them
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, XML, JSON and the HTTP protocol
