Working with the Bioanalysis & Immunology department, the following are the main duties of the Assistant Scientist position.

 

  • Prepare and analyse preclinical biological samples using quantitative LC-MS/MS.
  • Routine operation of LC-MS/MS equipment.
  • Handling data within departmental Laboratory Information Management Systems.
  • Maintain study records to GLP standards.
  • Prepare study reports.

 

The following are minimum requirements related to the Assistant Scientist position.

 

  • Qualified to BSc level in Analytical Chemistry or a related field.
  • A desire to play an active role in the development of new therapeutics.
  • Conscientious and precise laboratory work.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good time management skills and an ability to work to deadlines.
  • Although not essential a knowledge of High Performance Liquid Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry would be an advantage 

 

Salary banding for this position is £18,984 - £21,756.  Successful candidates will be appointed to the bottom of the pay band if they have no relevant experience.

In exceptional circumstances where the candidate has relevant equivalent experience, this will be taken into consideration.
