Salary banding for this position is £16,560. (Internal Scale 2)  Successful candidates will be appointed to the bottom of the pay band if they have no relevant experience.

In exceptional circumstances where the candidate has relevant equivalent experience, this will be taken into consideration.

 

We are seeking Assistant Animal Technicians for our Animal Health Product Development Department located in Tranent, Edinburgh.

 

The following are minimum requirements related to the Assistant Animal Technician position.

 

  • General animal husbandry
  • Participation in the technical support aspect of scientific studies
  • Participation in overtime rota (weekends & weekday evenings) for which additional payments will be made.
  • Minimum of 5 standard grades (this must include English, Maths and a Science subject)
  • Experience and a genuine interest in working with farm animals in a challenging scientific environment
  • Good communication skills & a strong willingness to learn
  • Ability to maintain accurate & legible laboratory records 
  • Ability to handle large farm animals

 

About our Animal Health Product Development Department

 

Our Department of Animal Health Product Development provides support to the organisation by performing high quality regulatory studies to aide the registration of veterinary products and feed additives in livestock species.
