Job Summary


We are seeking a Head of Analytical Services for our Safety Assessment site located in Stilwell, Kansas. 


The Head of Analytical Services will  manage and supervise all formulation and analytical activities in the laboratory, and be accountable for standards, quality and cost-effectiveness of all relevant activities.  The following are responsibilities related to the Head of Analytical Services position:

  • Demonstrate scientific knowledge and experience as well as management and organizational skills to achieve objectives, maintain standards and monitors performance in the analytical laboratory
  • Provide scientific expertise to interpret customer’s requests and needs
  • Communicate the status of projects to internal clients
  • Ensure that work performed is in accordance with the requirements of a protocol and in full compliance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), as required
  • Oversee the training process of the analytical staff
  • Participate in the installation/certification and qualification of analytical equipment and instruments
  • Write and review technical reports and procedures.


The following are minimum qualifications related to the Head of Analytical Services position:

  • PhD/MSc/BS in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field
  • A minimum of 5 years (PhD) or 7 years (MSc) or 10 years (BS) of experience in a GLP analytical laboratory
  • Significant experience in HPLC using chromatographic data system
  • Significant experience with dose formulation method development
  • Experience with instrument and software validation (21CFR Part 11)
  • Good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good problem solving and analytical skills
  • Detail oriented and meticulous
  • Ability to work under time constraints and adapt to change
  • Flexibility to work on changing work schedules
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Working knowledge of related computer applications
  • Ability to lift 25lbs
