Job Summary

 

Animal Health Technician– Toxicology – $2,000 Bonus

 

We are looking for an animal health technician to join our Toxicology team located in Senneville (West of Montreal Island)

 

How will you have an impact

 

As animal health technician, you will be responsible for the well-being of our laboratory animals. Your contribution will ensure the health of our animals, as well as the integrity of our pre-clinical studies.

Salary:

 

  • Basic : $19.50 / hour; 
  • Evening: $2.50 premium added to your hourly rate
  • Weekend : $2.75 premium added to your hourly rate
  • After 37,5 h : Overtime paid at time and a half
  • Holiday: Paid at double time
  • Annual bonus based on performance.
  • Bonus of 2,000$ after 6 months.
  • Possibility of a relocation amount of 1,000$ (If requirements are met)

 

Full-Time Schedule :


Standard :

  • Mostly day shifts, weekend rotations, with the possibility of overtime in the evenings and nights as needed;

 

Condensed:

  • Friday to Sunday – 10 hours per day for a total of 30 hours worked but paid for 37,5 hours. 

 

What will you work on? 


You will be responsible for the well-being of the animals. You will ensure that their environment is clean, provide their food and water, and oversee their enrichment activities. You will also follow up on their clinical signs, administer medications, take blood samples and give injections while respecting protocols.

Who are we looking for

 

We are looking for candidates with a technical background in animal health or bio-ecology or with a Bachelor's degree in biology or animal science. The ideal candidate must be a team player with good observation skills, must be able to work physically (lift up to 20 kg) , must have a good understanding of written English and must be available to work a variable schedule.

 

Please note that upon being hired, you will have to undergo an annual tuberculosis test.
