Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Accountant (Compensation and Corporate Accounting), located in either our Corporate headquarters in Wilmington, MA or remotely.  This role presents a great opportunity to join our North America General Ledger team, with this role specializing in the accounting of compensation & benefits as well as corporate based transactions.  The role will require working closely with our Payroll & Human Resources and Corporate & Business FP&A teams.  Primary focus areas include the following: general ledger accounting of compensation and benefits plans as well as corporate based transactions, various reporting & analysis activities, stream-lining processes, and enhancing accounting & reporting support provided to business partners in our rapidly growing global organization. 

 

The following are responsibilities related to the Senior Accountant position:
• Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and other accounting and reporting schedules, primarily relating to payroll, benefits, other compensation, and corporate based transactions.
• Demonstrate an understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
• Assist with review of general ledger detail and expense run-rates to identify and record required adjustments and reclassifications.
• Assist with reporting as well as analysis to be used by North America business finance leaders for forecasting purposes.
• Understand and comply with Sarbanes-Oxley controls.
• Assist with creation, documentation and monitoring of systems controls, procedures, and forms.
• Provide internal and external auditors with requested information.
• Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure transactions are recorded appropriately and in a timely manner.
• Assist with identification and implementation of process improvement initiatives.
• Support integration activities and ERP conversions of newly acquired companies.
• Perform other related and ad hoc duties as assigned.
 

Job Qualifications

The following are minimum qualifications related to the Senior Accountant position:
•    Bachelor's degree (B.A. /B.S.) or equivalent in Accounting/Finance or related discipline.
•    Five years accounting experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific experience.
•    Experience with Accounting Software.
•    Intermediate to advanced excel skills
•    Strong written and verbal communications skills required.

 

The following are preferred qualifications related to the Senior Accountant position:
•    CPA or CPA candidate.
•    Degree in Accounting.
•    SAP, Blackline, and BPC Experience.

Comments:
⦁    This position may require occasional domestic / international travel.

Compensation Data

The pay range for this position is $90,000 to $95,000. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, and location.

The Corporate Functions provide operational support across Charles River in areas such as Human Resources, Finance, IT, Legal, Sales, Quality Assurance, Marketing, and Corporate Development. They partner with their colleagues across the company to develop and drive strategies and to set global standards.
