Job Summary

 

Explora BioLabs, an entity of Charles River, is seeking a Study Coordinator in San Diego, CA.  

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Draft study schedules, assign research associate to studies.
  •  Draft study reports including tables and figures if needed.
  • Proactively communicate with study directors, research associates, and other internal stakeholders to ensure key milestones are achieved.
  •  Manage test articles receiving and sample shipment (including dropping off at Fedex).
  •  Analyze and quantify data generated from IVIS imaging.
  • Maintain an awareness of the financial status of ongoing studies, including work scope changes.
  • Prepare animal care and use protocol (ACUP) for submission, IACUC review and investigator communications
  • Deputize for study directors in their absence with ability to provide updates to internal teams/external customers.
  •  Perform in vivo procedures in rodents as technical services if needed.
  •  Assist research associates with contract research studies as needed.
  • Assist cell culture if needed.
  • Perform other contract research related tasks if needed.

Job Qualifications


•    Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or relevant area.

  • 0-3 years of academic/industry working experience.

•    Must be able to operate computers and be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
•    Must be willing to work with laboratory animals and possess good understanding of the importance of ethical use of animals in research.
•    Possess energetic, outgoing, and professional demeanor.
•    Possess excellent work ethic and must be a team player.
•    Able to work in a fast-paced, high-quality service environment.
•    Must have strong organizational skills. Must be detail oriented and able to multi-task.
•    Excellent communication and organizational skills.
•    Able to operate a computer terminal and the server.
•    Have good oral communication skills.

•    Experience working in a contract research organization preferred.
•    Experience with handling mice and rats in a research environment preferred. 
•    Experience with in vivo techniques in mice and rats, including dosing, blood/tissue collection preferred.
