Technician - Analytical


Charles River is seeking an exceptional, ambitious and highly motivated technician to work in our Separation Sciences team at our Saffron Walden site, assisting in the purification of a diverse range of Medicinal Chemistry small molecules in order to advance drug discovery projects for our clients.

Candidate profile

We are seeking a laboratory technician who may have some industrial experience with a degree and a passion for applying scientific expertise to drug discovery collaborations. Adept in working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will need to possess the flexibility required to work in a goal-oriented environment, as well as:


  • A practical scientific background ideally with some technical knowledge of automated purification instrumentation and/or other analytical chemistry techniques such as UPLC or HPLC
  • Excellent communication skills; these will be essential to engage with Analytical and Chemistry teams.    
  • Ability to work well under pressure to tight deadlines.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Workload prioritisation, clear communication and multitasking.
  • Identifying creative approaches to increase effectiveness at a department level.
  • To operate in a safe manner at all times and to comply with CRL site-based guidelines
  • To work within the framework of the Charles River core values of Collaborate, Lead, Own, Care
