Within Early Discovery at Charles River we maintain a large internal compound collection along with curating and managing proprietary compound libraries for our clients. As part of our team, you will work with cutting-edge automation and IT platforms to deliver test samples to a global client base (both internal & external). Can you exploit your knowledge, skill and enthusiasm for drug discovery to help our clients realise the potential of their discovery and development programs?

You will be a self-motivated and enthusiastic about working in the lab and have experience with compound/sample management and liquid handling automation ideally gained within industry or an academic screening environment. 

This role will place you as part of a cross-functional core Sample Management team working at the forefront of drug discovery, interacting with other groups across the organisation including computational chemistry, medicinal chemistry, synthetic chemistry, biology and DMPK. You will work in a challenging and dynamic environment that will provide the ideal opportunity to showcase your expertise and contribute directly to the discovery of new medicines. 

Our ideal candidate will have several years relevant experience, and a passion for applying technical expertise to drug discovery collaborations. Adept in working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will need to possess the flexibility required to work in a goal-oriented environment, as well as the following:

•    Experience in developing, optimizing and executing liquid handling protocols and methods
•    Experience with Titian Mosaic or similar informatics systems
•    Experience with plate-based robotic platforms and associated scheduling software
•    Experience in presenting your own work to both internal customers and project teams
•    The ability to QC equipment and troubleshoot in a timely fashion where issues arise
•    An awareness of relevant scientific literature and contemporary laboratory practices
•    An ability to work to tight deadlines
•    Strong organizational skills
•    A pro-active and positive problem solving mind-set
•    An ability to work in a safe manner at all times ensuring procedures/SOPs are adhered to
