Job Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a talented, dynamic Computational Chemist to provide scientific excellence within the Charles River CADD team in Saffron Walden or Harlow, UK.  You will very quickly develop a deep understanding of drug discovery, experience a broad portfolio of targets & projects and influence our scientific partners.  At Charles River we care deeply about personal development and you will grow within our organisation through a wealth of opportunities that are hard to find elsewhere.



  • To drive project progression by providing computational chemistry expertise within drug discovery projects, working as a valued member of high performing multi-disciplinary teams
  • To identify and implement new technologies to enhance capabilities within CADD and medicinal chemistry
  • Occasionally contribute to business development activities


Candidate Profile:

  • A first degree or equivalent in chemistry or a closely related subject
  • A PhD in a field of relevance to molecular modelling
  • Postdoctoral experience applying computational chemistry to drug discovery related projects
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • A dynamic and flexible approach towards achieving objectives, with the ability to deliver on multiple projects simultaneously and meet challenging deadlines
  • An interest in data science and predictive modelling would be an advantage
  • Models the Charles River Values of Care, Lead, Own and Collaborate
