Job Summary

Charles River are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated protein scientist, ideally with experience in the provision of various antibody formats to join our new team focussed on Large Molecule Drug Discovery at Cambridge, UK.  This is an excellent opportunity for a successful candidate to play an influential role in shaping the drug development programs in close collaboration with our clients. Working across multiple disciplines CRL Early Discovery scientists have helped deliver over 80 pre-clinical candidates.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Integrated into our expanding multi-disciplinary Structural Biology team, you can help discover the drugs of tomorrow.  You will be foundational in helping to develop our in-house large molecule discovery capabilities in a role with real opportunities for personal and career development.  The role is delivery focused and shall have responsibility for generation of various antibody formats (antibody formats (VH, scFvs, Fabs, full length, bispecific) plus a wide family of protein targets. Additionally, it would be very advantageous to have experience in antibody and protein characterisation (Biacore, SEC-HPLC, PAGE).  

 

Essential Requirements
•    Experience of mammalian expression of antibodies and other protein targets over a range of cell lines
•    Experience of antibody and other protein targets purification (Affinity and Size Exclusion chromatography), preferably on AKTA platform.
•    Scientific curiosity with a keenness to learn and self-develop with in the Structural Biology team

 

Desirable Requirements
•    Experience of antibody generation at medium to high throughput in an industrial environment.
•    Expression of wider protein expression using alternative expression hosts, purification methodologies and analytical protein characterisation techniques would be advantageous.
•    Experience of Biacore, SEC-HPLC and PAGE analysis.
