Job Summary

Charles River are pleased to announce an exciting new opportunity for a talented, highly motivated individual in the Project Management Office (PMO) to work with the team to execute project data interrogation and interpretation and to work collaboratively with Project Leaders, Finance and Senior Management within Early Discovery, Charles River. Whilst this role sits within the Project Management team, there are no direct Project Manager responsibiities, this role would suit someone with a data anlysis or resource management background where you can build on these skills and help to effectively monitor the progress of various complex scientific projects. You'll liaise with the Project Leads to ensure the projects are on track in terms of meeting deadlines, resource allocation and financials. 


Main Responsibilities
The successful applicant will work alongside PMO colleagues in maintaining the accuracy of data captured (revenue and capacity) for new and existing opportunities through interactions with client services, project leaders and operations management. Key elements of the job role will include:
•    Tracking the progression of projects from the initial inquiry notification to archival of the study from a financial and resourcing point of view.
•    Monitoring department schedules, to identify extended leads times and back logs in departments and notify operational and business colleagues when these begin to develop.
•    Providing clear and frequent project communications between PMO, project leaders and Finance.
•    Working hand in hand with all levels within the Scientific, Operations, Business and Finance groups to ensure projects are managed in an accurate and timely manner.
•    Analysing data on projects and identifying areas for improving efficiency and participate in continuous improvement activities.


Key Requirements:
•    Applicants should preferably be educated to degree level or have other relevant qualifications or experience. Experience working in a contract research and/or pharmaceutical setting and/or customer service is desirable.
•    Well organised and confident with effective verbal and written communication with internal colleagues and with demonstrated experience of stakeholder influence and engagement.
•    Capable of working independently with minimal supervision and prioritize workload based on departmental goals. 
•    Ability to prepare high quality data reports to challenging deadlines.
•    A positive role model with a ‘can-do’ attitude, who contributes to departmental goals and promotes best practice.
•    A dynamic and flexible approach towards achieving departmental objectives, with developing strategic thinking. 
•    Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet, and database software. Experience of working with smartsheets would be advantageous, although training will be provided.
