Job Summary

We are looking for a dedicated team member to join Charles River as a DMPK Technician at our site at Chesterford Research Park near Saffron Walden and Cambridge in the UK.  You should be driven by a desire to generate quality scientific data and provide technical support within the department.  


What is DMPK (Drug Metabolism Pharmacokinetics)
The study of what the body does to the drug. Will the compound be absorbed from the gut? Where will it distribute to? Will it be metabolised? How will it be eliminated?


In the role you will be required to:
•    Analyse biological samples using LC/MS (Liquid Chromatography/ Mass Spectrometry) from PK/PD studies
•    Follow defined experimental procedures and processes, summarise results for quality control by others
•    Perform routine instrument validation and maintenance duties to maintain a safe working environment
•    Help with general laboratory housekeeping


We look for enthusiastic candidates who want to make a difference and would enjoy working in an fast paced drug discovery research environment
•    Educated to A Level (at least one Science), relevant degree preferred, experience is a bonus but not essential
•    Enthusiasm for the sciences with a desire to work within a laboratory-based environment
•    Strong communication skills, both written and verbal and be an effective team player
•    High attention to detail
•    Good computer skills, particularly Excel
•    Strong organization and time management skills alongside an inbuilt flexibility to adapt to change
