Job Summary

We are seeking a Veterinary Technician I for our Safety Assessment site located in Reno, Nevada.
The Veterinary Technician 1 will assist veterinary staff in the documentation and triage of all laboratory animal health cases In addition, this individual will may also perform technical in-life procedures.
Job Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of a collegiate veterinary technology program accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Training Activities or equivalent program in veterinary technology.
- 0-2 years related experience working with animals in pre-clinical laboratory or clinical setting; experience working with a CRO with multi-species preferred.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above if the individual is credentialed as a Certified Veterinary Technician.
- If uncertified, must be able to receive certification within 12-18 months or show that certification has been substantially completed.
- Proficient in routine veterinary technical and husbandry techniques.
- Demonstrate understanding of Standard Operating Procedures.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and recordkeeping skills.
- Proficient in Computers (ie: MS Office Suite).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- LVT license or CVT/RVT certification.
- AALAS certification.
“The pay range for this position starts at $28.00 an hour. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.”
