Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Animal Resource Coordinator for our Safety Assessment site located in Reno, Nevada. 

 

The Animal Resource Coordinator will coordinate projects that include tissue collections and sales, processing events of newly arrived animals, quarterly physicals, bleeds and other related activities. Perform tissue collection and shipping.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s degree (A.A. /A.S.) or equivalent in animal science or related discipline preferred.
  • 2 years experience working with research laboratory animals (multi-species preferred), or related pathology and/or surgical experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
  • ALAT certification.
  • Training in the handling of dangerous goods shipping practices equivalent to Title 49 CFR federal regulations and guidelines.
  • Proficient in advanced technical skills and the operation of data collection equipment.
  • Knowledge of GLP’s and other federal regulations and guidelines relating to the care of laboratory animals.
  • Knowledge of procedures, regulations, and guidelines for shipping dangerous goods.
  • Basic understanding of study design and protocols.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • LAT certification.
