Job Summary

Become an Animal technician – $1,000 Bonus

We are looking for an assistant technician in animal care to join our Toxicology team located in Senneville (West of Montreal Island)

What will you work on? 


Level 1 – Assistant technician - 16,25$/hr
You will be responsible for the well-being of the animals. You will ensure that they are well fed, their environment is clean and that they are handled with care. You will oversee their physical and enrichment activities while respecting protocol.


Level 2 – Assistant technician 2 - 18,00$/hr
In addition to the previous activities, you will learn how to observe, examine, and follow up on clinical signs of animals, record animal weights and feed intake, and perform injections according to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).


Level 3 – Technician - From 19,50$ to 23$/hr
In addition to the previous activities, you will learn to administer test items and/or medications, perform sample collection and use specialized equipment.

 

Who are we looking for? 
The ideal candidate would be a great team player with a curiosity for learning, must be able to work physically (lift up to 20 kg), have a good understanding of written English and must be available to work a variety of hours. An AEP in animal care is an asset.

Transportation:

Salary:

  • Basic : $16.25 / hour; 
  • Weekend $2.75 premium added to your hourly rate;
  • Evening $2.50 premium added to your hourly rate;
  • After 37,5 h : Overtime paid at time and a half;
  • Holiday: Paid at double time;
  • Annual bonus based on performance;
  • Bonus of 1,000$ after 6 months.

 

Full-Time Schedule :

Standard :

  • Mostly day shifts, weekend rotations, with the possibility of overtime in the evenings and nights as needed;

Condensed:

  • Friday to Sunday – 10 hours per day for a total of 30 hours worked but paid for 37,5 hours. 

 

Please note that upon being hired, you will have to undergo an annual tuberculosis test.
