Job Summary


We are seeking an Internal Communications & Engagement Specialist for our Cell Therapy Manufacturing Facility located Memphis, TN.


The Internal Communications & Engagement Specialist will play a critical role as a strategic partner to ensure staff feel informed, engaged, involved, and valued. This role will develop content and implement internal communication strategies and plans that engage, align, and inspire employees with Charles River's vision and business strategy and drive employees' understanding of and engagement with Charles River's priorities and key initiatives. 


The following are responsibilities related to the Internal Communications & Engagement Specialist


•    Work closely with Sr. Manager, Employee Communications & Engagement on communications strategies and activities to support Memphis CDMO and key corporate initiatives.
•    Assist with development of messaging and internal communications for company updates, key initiatives, and other topics.
•    Develop internal communications that mobilize employees to achieve the company’s goals.
•    Create and support execution of communications plans for corporate groups and site directors for regular communications touchpoints and change initiatives as needed.
•    Assist with implementation of communications strategies, programs, or activities that address specific business issues or employee needs and achieve desired results.
•    Ensure internal communications messages are consistent across all mediums and are consistent with external communication messages.
•    Create clear, concise, and timely communications that convey key messages tied to business / company goals and foster employee understanding and commitment.
•    Develop well-crafted written material for a variety of audiences from senior executives to front-line employees and for various communication vehicles including the intranet, e-mail, speeches, presentations, and print collateral.
•    Manage email, intranet, digital signage, and other communications channels as needed.
•    Plan and execute engagement events and activities.
•    Develop and publish content using electronic tools, including SharePoint, Poppulo, and Digital Signage.

Job Qualifications


The following are minimum qualifications related to the Internal Communications & Engagement Specialist position:


•    Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in communications, journalism, web technologies, marketing or related discipline.
•    1 + years of related experience in corporate communications with a focus on internal audiences and content and digital channel development.
•    An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
•    Excellent writing and marketing skills required. 
•    Proficiency in creating word-processed documents, spreadsheets and presentations required. SharePoint, PowerPoint and other digital platform skills preferred. 
•    Previous experience within a life science environment (e.g., biotech, pharmaceutical, medical device company, hospital, laboratory) preferred. 
•    Event Planning and project management experience preferred.
