Job Summary

We are on a mission to make the Enterprise Data Analytics team be the backbone of today’s business, as data-driven decision-making enables business leaders to make informed choices quickly to boost revenue, improve productivity, and stay a step ahead of the market. We have already launched our own Enterprise Data Hub, the digital backbone of this company, and we need more leaders in the data analytics discipline who are forward thinking, self-guided and innovative to continue to build out the hub across our lines of business, integrating all of our data, mastering data and focusing on data quality to fundamentally shift the way Charles River operates through data science and advanced analytics.
The following are responsibilities related to the Master Data Analyst:
• Create and manage Master Data elements (Business Partners, Customer, Materials/products, Vendors, BOMs, Recipes, Resources, Cost Centers, GL accounts, Profit centers) across MDM and ERP Systems, serving as subject matter expert.
• Manage global master data across all sites and businesses in partnership with operational data owners.
• Ensure data completeness, integrity, and accuracy, including providing quality assurance over data entered by others.
• Lead reviews and clean-up of current master data and implement processes for scheduled reviews and data cleansing to rid the system of inaccurate, old, unused, and duplicate data.
• Implement controls and procedures designed to ensure the correct flow of information and strong cohesion of master data between the ERP system and surrounding tools.
• Work directly with data owners of new business acquisitions, project leads, team members and stakeholder, to deliver a successful data migration plan and manage scope and risks.
• Provide assistance in resolving data quality problems through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction, process control and improvement and collaborate with subject-matter experts, as required.
• Lead the development and/or update, deploy, and align Master Data standards across geographies and business areas.
• Assist with updating Business Processes/SOPs to align with changes in master data standards.
• Create consistent master data KPIs across all applications and analyze and report as required.
• Provide the training and support to all colleagues in creating and understanding use of data within ERP and operational systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve assigned Service Desk incidents in a timely fashion related to data issues; update tickets accordingly.
• Adhere to internal procedures and controls as required by Sarbanes Oxley.
• Partner with colleagues and other functional teams on opportunities to reduce data errors.
• Work with Sales, Finance and Operations groups to continually improve processes.
• Maintain an understanding of source data and appropriate data ownership, governance and stewardship.
• Serve as a tester for MDM system changes/enhancements.
• Create and ensure adherence to current processes and update these where required
• Develop exceptional, accountable relationships with key stakeholders
Job Qualifications
The following are minimum requirements related to the Master Data Analyst position.
• Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree from accredited university in Computer Science, Data Management, Business Administration or equivalent program.
• Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience in Master Data Management experience
• 5+ years of experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint with strong digital literacy with proficiency
• 2+ years of experience in S/4 HANA, SAP ECC and other ERP systems
• 2+ years of experience in master data and SAP (preferably Customer Master, Vendor Master, Material Master, Pricing, Business Partners, GL accounts, Cost Centers, Profit centers, BOMS, Recipes, Resources).
• Ability to create and update LSMW, Winshuttle or S/4 migration cockpit (LTMC) scripts to support high volume requests
• Experience with CVI (Customer Vendor Integration) for S/4 HANA
• 2+ years of experience in business analysis and/or project experience.
• Experience in regulatory compliance.
• Execute in Master Data migration strategies associated with new Mergers and or Acquisitions for large scale transformation and M&A efforts.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to understand and troubleshoot sophisticated business problems.
• Detail oriented
• Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team and deliver with tight deadlines.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multi tasks.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
• Approximately 30% travel required for project deployments at various CRL sites
The following are strongly desired:
• Agile experience particularly as Product Owner or leading some ceremonies such as standups, sprint planning, sprint retrospectives, and backlog grooming
• Certified Data Steward
• Experience in Life Sciences industry with master data
• Strong intellectual curiosity, eager to learn new technologies and adapt solutions for automation.
Compensation Data
The pay range for this position is $65,000 - $75,000 USD. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
