Basic Summary

We are seeking a Glassware Technician for our Biologics Testing Solutions site located in Malvern.

You may be required to work a rotating shift schedule that may require weekend hours. 

You may be requited to travel between the Wayne and Malvern, PA sites with minimum notification. 

 
Perform day to day activities as they relate to autoclave room activities.

 

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Manage autoclave room activities including autoclaving and disposal of laboratory trash. 
  • Perform proper washing and sterilization of laboratory glassware. 
  • Perform general cleaning and maintenance of autoclave. 
  • Provide support duties for other laboratory personnel such as media preparation, equipment monitoring, and pipet calibration. 
  • Position may include environmental monitoring duties and general microbiology assay support. 
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D) 
  • One to two years related experience.
  • Experience in a laboratory support environment preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above. 
  • Excellent communication skills required. 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear and type at a computer. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

  • General office working conditions, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet 
  • May be assigned to assist Materials Management in the receipt, processing and storage of critical materials.
  • Regularly communicate and coordinate with laboratories the daily scheduling for autoclave   operations.
  • Responsible for ensuring the facility is in compliance with proper health and safety measures and regulations.
  • Arrange inventory in a neat and orderly fashion which is conducive to proper safeguarding and record keeping.
  • Keep areas of responsibility clear at all times. 
  • Assure that materials are available for laboratories in advance to allow for on time project initiation and uninterrupted testing.
  • Ensure that laboratory refuse is discarded according to SOP’s and any applicable regulations. 
  • Maintain exact and detailed documentation appropriate.
  • Able to work independently and under minimal supervision.
