Job Summary
Due to our continuing growth and need of support for our projects during the weekends we have exciting opportunities for talented and flexible Research Technicians at our state-of-the-art drug discovery site in Leiden, the Netherlands.
The Research Technician is a laboratory-based role to support the development of cell-based assays and readouts to identify novel candidate drugs and/or therapeutic targets for our clients. In particular, you will be part of a team that is developing and applying models for screening in complex cell-based assays. Technologies that are commonly used at our site are (stem) cell culture, molecular biology, high content imaging, qPCR/ddPCR, MSD, automated liquid handling/robotics and many more. All this is done in a team-oriented, result-driven, international research environment that provides excellent career and development opportunities for an enthusiastic and motivated individual. As many activities for our client projects require efforts during weekends, we are in search for talented technicians that have strong communication skills and can work independently. To keep up to date with project needs and for smooth transfer within project teams, availability during one or more weekdays, besides the weekend, is preferred. 

Job Responsibilities
•    Provide technical laboratory support in activities such as assay development and compound profiling. 
•    Assess effects of putative therapeutics (compounds, antibodies, siRNA/shRNA, antisense oligonucleotides) and analyse obtained data independently. 
•    Confidently present own work internally, with clear rationale and produce slides on own work.
•    Able to work in a highly dynamic team environment within time- and budget constraints as dictated by the project leader.
•    Write up lab book to department and patent-acceptable standard.
•    Clear communication with project team and leader on experimental progress is of utmost importance. 

The following are minimum requirements related to the Research Technician position:
•    B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree.
•    Working experience in a relevant environment is a pre. 
•    Proficient in English. 
•    Able to independently execute studies according to agreed protocols. 
•    Experience in in vitro biology techniques (e.g. cell culture, luminescence/fluorescence-based assays, high-content analysis, immunocytochemistry, FACS, ELISA/MSD, automation and/or high-throughput screening).
