Job Summary

Perform routine and moderately complex daily and preventative maintenance, repair machinery, and assist in construction and refurbishment of physical plant.

Job Qualifications

  • Perform a wide variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks to assist in the daily repair, preventative maintenance and construction of machinery and physical plan and expansion projects, including routine carpentry, masonry, electrical, heating / air-conditioning, plumbing, mechanical and floor/wal coating installation.
  • Operate construction and maintenance equipment and power tools; maintain hand tools and assigned equipment; perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Perform scheduled inspections/ repairs on all facilities systems.

  • Examine machinery and equipment to diagnose trouble using basic mechanical tools and equipment. Disassemble machines and equipment and adjust, replace or repair broken or defective parts and pieces.

  • Inspect completed mechanical repairs for quality, safety, and proper operation.

  • Perform equipment calibration and preventative maintenance procedures as directed.

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance repairs and services. 

  • Respond to emergencies as needed. Provide 24-hour On-Call maintenance coverage, as scheduled in rotation.

  • May operate yard equipment such as fork lift.

  • Take proper safety precautions and utilize appropriate safety gear/ equipment in the performance of all duties.

 

Education: High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) strongly preferred.

Experience: 3 years experience in general building maintenance with mechanical and construction background.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.

Certification: Drivers Licentse required. Fork Lift Certification preferred.
