Job Summary
Responsible for managing projects implementing technology for various sites or teams. Manages day-to-day operational aspects of projects. Effectively utilizes each team member to his/her fullest potential and motivates team to work together in the most efficient manner to ensure successful project delivery. Examples of projects include but not limited to: enhancements and rollouts of SaaS products for our scientific labs, projects that support our Sales/HR/Finance processes, M&A integration, document management migrations, network upgrades, outfitting newly constructed labs or supporting building renovations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for planning, orchestrating and delivering given projects.
• Ensure deliverables and project outcomes are of the highest caliber with a clearly articulated scope and quantifiable business benefit.
• Manage scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed-on time, cost and quality parameters.
• Responsible for building, mobilizing and motivating project teams.
• Strong collaboration with the Discovery IT team, software and hardware vendors, and CRL Global Tech functions.
• Oversee organizational change management activities to ensure system adoptions is maximized.
• Chair project Executive Steering Committee meetings to review progress, risks and issues with key constituents. Provide regular status reporting to stakeholders
• Manage project budgets and provide monthly financial forecasts
• Practice and apply the selected project management methodology for each project (may be traditional waterfall, agile, or hybrid), managing its controls and deliverables.
• Ensures solutions are transitioned appropriately to the support team through company defined processes.
• Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in computer science, engineering, business administration or related discipline.
• Experience: 5 years related experience in project management.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
• Certification/Licensure: PMP preferred
• Other: Demonstrated experience successfully delivering projects. Proven ability to quickly earn the trust and confidence of sponsors and key stakeholders. Strong influencing and negotiation skills. Ability to communicate at all levels and to multi-national audiences with clarity and precision, both written and verbally. Strong presentation skills. Ability to remove barriers and enable teams to complete their objectives. Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills. Sound business and technical acumen.
Compensation Data
The pay range for this position is $95,000 - $125,000 USD. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
