Job Summary

We’re currently recruiting for a Senior Scientist on a permanent basis to join our Pharmaceutical Sciences team based in Harlow, UK. Working closely with colleagues from Medicinal Chemistry, ADME and Pharmacology, the successful candidate will use their experience in solid state chemistry, crystallisation science and pre-formulation to provide expert input to our drug discovery programs, delivering results for customers around the world.

With both a hands-on lab component and the chance to get involved in project management, customer communication and building the capabilities of the team, this is a development role that would suit a skilled and dynamic practical scientist who is looking to grow their capabilities outside of the lab.


The ideal candidate will have:


  •  PhD level qualification with relevant industry experience (outside of academia) or equivalent, relevant industrial experience
  • Familiarity with solid state characterisation techniques (XRPD, DSC, TGA, GVS and PSD)
  • A strong technical background in polymorph screening, salt selection and crystallisation
  • The ability to communicate complex scientific data to internal and external stakeholders
  • A good understanding of the drug discovery process
  • Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team
  • The ability and desire to mentor junior members of the team
  • A high degree of commercial awareness, likely gained in a CRO environment
