Business Finance Controller - Freiburg (DE) & Groningen (NL) sites*

Charles River Discovery Research Services Germany GmbH is a subsidiary of the multinational corporation Charles River Laboratories International Inc. which is a leader in early-stage contract research. In Freiburg, Germany, we conduct research contracts for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies and hospitals related to the development of new antitumor agents. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Preparation and submission of monthly site financial forecasts 
  • Budget preparation and presentation
  • Assessment of capital expenditure requirements
  • Developing business finance data, models and metrics, covering areas such as pricing, profitability, operational efficiencies, labor utilization.
  • Business review preparation and presentation to divisional leadership
  • Supporting SAP implementation
  • Key member of the site leadership team, working alongside the Site Leaders and Heads of Departments

QUALIFICATIONS & SOFT SKILLS

Education:  Bachelor’s degree (B.A. /B.S.) or equivalent in Accounting or Finance or related discipline.
Experience:  Five to seven years related experience and/or training.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.

Certification:  BA, MBA, CPA or CMA designation desired.
Other:  Excellent spreadsheet and German skills required

  • Ability to work on team mode, cross function or cross country
  • Ability to lead by influence and drive changes, build values on the new formed team and develop them
  • Ability to work on a changing environment and constantly adapt to new organizations
  • Ability to be ‘hands on’, undertaking the fundamental business partnering aspect of the role, whilst managing and overseeing the accounting elements
