Job Summary

Provides administrative, logistical and technical support for Scientific staff conducting studies or supporting functions for operations of the laboratory. Coordinates all laboratory support, pre-study activities, method development, method validation, study activities, data and/or reporting activities. Responsible for data review for completeness, quality or QC against the applicable protocol or procedure. May be responsible for drafting client correspondence, study correspondence, reporting or direct client interaction. Interacts with other departments, scientific staff, and sponsors either locally or across sites.

We are seeking a Supervisor, Report Coordination for our Safety Assessment site located Durham, NC.

The following are responsibilities related to the Supervisor, Report Coordination: 

Supervise staff of Research Associates and coordinates activities on multiple concurrent projects. Coordinate with department management, study pathologists, quality assurance, scheduling, and project coordinators to ensure the delivery of on time pathology reports to clients for a specific business unit.

Oversee processes to assure proper completion of pathology reports in a timely manner and to meet both regulatory and client requests.  Provide guidance and training to less experienced staff.

•      Evaluate and implement changes to support pathology report processes to optimize quality and productivity.

•      Establish and monitor operational metrics.

•      Understand and conduct all processes in compliance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) regulations. Contribute with SOP preparation and revision as needed.

•      Perform duties of Research Associate as needed.

•      Oversee daily operational activities and supervise a group of non-exempt employees. Ensure optimum group performance.

•      Responsible for personnel management activities such as: scheduling, personnel actions (hiring, promotions, transfers, etc.), training and development, providing regular direction and feedback on performance, disciplinary actions and preparing and delivering annual performance and salary reviews.

•      Recommend short-range operating objectives, organizational structure, staffing requirements and succession plans.

•      May assist in development of departmental budget.

•      As required, oversee maintenance of group training manual and training records.
