Job Summary

Responsible for implementing a change management methodology, assessing change management needs and implementing plans to ease the organization through various changes, including organizational, process, technical, and cultural related to IT initiatives and others.

Essential Duties

•    Assist to create and implement a structured and repeatable change management methodology for use across Global IT with the potential to expand across all of Charles River
•    Integrate change management methodology and deliverables into the various initiatives in the Global IT space
•    Define change management services offerings and business cases to better support training and planning efforts
•    Train the IT organization and project/product teams on organizational change management and our change management methodology
•    Assess impact of change management programs, incorporate changes into core approach / methodology as appropriate
•    Research, recommend, create business cases, and implement tools and technologies to support change management initiatives
•    Provide leadership for internal and external OCM resources in executing the IT Change Management strategy
•    Reduce resistance and improve adoption related to change efforts through project support and by training others on how to use the change management methodology
•    Create and implement a process for evaluating the change effort of projects and work with the Portfolio team on using this in project forecasting, planning & prioritization
•    Provide oversight and guidance on multiple OCM projects and initiatives, as well as manage strategic OCM efforts, as needed
•    Review and provide guidance on the development of a change management strategy for defined projects and products
•    Advise and influence project timelines based on change management needs
•    Work closely with business partners to better understand specific OCM requirements

Responsibilities

•    Demonstrate cross functional collaboration by developing necessary partnerships to achieve strategy and outcomes
•    Account for local cultural and process differences when developing change impact and planning templates
•    Develop consistent approach for assessing, tracking and measuring business and change readiness for IT projects with input from IT & business teams
•    Develop consistent approach for assessing, tracking, and measuring change impacts on IT projects
•    Understand and translate the impact of medium to complex process, organization, and technology changes into relevant change management tools & templates
•    Establish and maintain effective communication channels with the key teams, stakeholders, and others (vendors, partners, etc.) to ensure successful implementation
•    Ensure quality, consistency, and alignment in key messaging
•    Provide direction and guidance on the types of training materials to deliver consistently on IT projects
•    Formalize consistent curriculum approach for IT Projects
•    Deliver progress reports on organizational change management efforts for assigned project
•    Manage risks, escalate issues, and confront resistance proactively. Identify the necessary change agents and support resources to address change needs across businesses, regions, and functions
•    Develop a change network strategy, institute a change network and manage the network
•    Provides change leadership coaching to build OCM competency for project teams, leaders, business stakeholders, and IT in general
•    Lead work efforts of others critical to change management plan implementation, including consultants and Senior Change Managers
•    Demonstrate change leadership within an environment of ambiguity
•    Perform on-going assessments of change impact by defining and tracking adoption measures and project post-mortem assessment of change management
•    Provide feedback and direction for continuous improvement of our existing IT communication processes
•    Manage activities of assigned group(s) to ensure optimum performance of the group/function
•    Responsible for personnel management activities such as: scheduling, personnel actions (hiring, promotions, transfers, etc.), training and development, providing regular direction and feedback on performance, disciplinary actions and preparing and delivering annual performance and salary reviews.
•    Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

•    Education:  Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in computer science, organizational behavior, business administration or related discipline.
•    MBA or other relevant graduate degree preferred.
•    Experience:  10+ years related experience in IT and program / project management, including a strong track record of successfully delivering large, complex programs consisting of multiple interrelated projects that span across locations and/or functions.
•    8+ years experience in Change Management for highly-complex and integrated applications and environments, with demonstrated track record of planning, coordinating and delivering effectively.
•    Big 4 consulting a plus but not required.  
•    Certification/Licensure: Change Management certification preferred (e.g., Prosci)
•    Other:  Strong leadership and interpersonal skills including collaboration, influencing, aligning, and active listening.  Interaction with executive-level management to negotiate and to influence programs and policies.
•    Effective communication skills for large, multinational audiences. A strong understanding of financial, portfolio, and governance processes required.
•    Excellent prioritization skills required.  Global experience and experience in the Life Science space preferred but not required.  
•    Excellent knowledge of standard Software/Solution Development Lifecycles preferred such as Agile.
•    Knowledge of and experience with Change Management tools required. 


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
•    Must regularly operate a computer and occasionally operate other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. 
•    Must regularly communicate with employees/customers; must be able to exchange accurate information.
•    Must occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc.
