Job Summary

We are seeking a Sr. Lab Technician - Celsis for our Microbial Soultions site located in Charleston, SC.  


The Sr. Lab Technician - Celsis will be responsible for providing Celsis technical support for all incoming studies utilizing various technology platforms. Performs microbiological testing in support of laboratory functions, sales support methods development, and product complaints.  Serves as a resource for customer applications, assist customers via phone and email. Writes reports for feasibility, claim support, and validation studies. Assist with daily tasks of making dilutions, media preparation and ordering supplies.  Receives customer samples and disposes of microbial cultures according to current SOPs. Provides training to customers during workshops, on site, and via other communications such as email, phone, or web-based meeting technology.

Essential duties and Responsibilities  

•    Provide technical support for internal and external Celsis customers through microbiological analysis utilizing varying instrument platforms and laboratory testing procedures; samples can include raw materials, consumer goods, and drug products
•    Perform the full scope of microbiological analysis including isolation, growth, maintenance of cultures, and discrepancy resolution
•    Independently perform microbiological testing methods including bioburden, sterility, and micro limits testing based on defined customer criteria
•    Collaborate with Technical Services leadership and team members on customer support and special projects; serve as back-up on all lab functions
•    Comply with SOPs, SDS sheets, and laboratory procedures to ensure the integrity of our data
•    Maintain records compliance by adhering to regulatory guidelines set forth by the company and varying agencies
•    Process, receive, unpack, log, customer samples according to current SOPs
•    Dispose of microbial cultures, chemicals and glass in designated waste containers
•    Conduct both in-house and customer site training
•    Perform all other related duties as assigned

Job Qualifications


•    Education: Bachelor’s Degree in related life sciences discipline
•    Experience: 2+ years’ experience working with sterility or sterility method development/validation. Additional QC pharmaceutical experience is preferred.
•    Certifications/Licensures: None
•    Must be comfortable working collaboratively or individually
•    High standards for integrity and quality of work performed
