Job Summary

 

We are seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst for our Microbial Solutions business in Charleston, SC.

 

The IT Business Analyst  is responsible for process analysis, requirements gathering, and business support within regulated and/or non-regulated IT environments. This role will participate in the analysis and delivery of IT projects that support the business and technology strategies.  Other responsibilities of this role include:

  • Partner with the business to understand how the business works, support identifying business problems and where technology solutions can help support their needs.
  • Identify customer organization's strengths and weaknesses and suggest areas of improvement via processes and/or technology.
  • Act as primary liaison between the business functions and IT, translating business goals and requests into relevant business needs that can be consumed by IT project and development resources.
  • Develop business cases showing value and return on investment supporting proposed projects.
  • Provide user support in manufacturing, inventory, warehouse, quality, purchasing, customer service, pricing, costing, sales, and finance systems to help support user adoption.  Communicate with users to develop and improve solutions.
  • Appropriately set expectations on the capabilities of systems, request timelines and scope, assisting the business in prioritization when/if all needs cannot be met.
  • Facilitate and document requirements, specifications, and business processes and coordinate recommendations related to proposed solutions.
  • Work with technical resources to support system design specifications.
  • May lead testing and validation efforts.
  • Work with user personnel to identify required changes and communicate needed changes to development/implementation team.
  • Ensure issues are identified, tracked, reported on, and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively with users to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions with project management.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.

 

The following are minimum requirements related to the IT Business Analyst position.

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. /B.S.) or equivalent. 
  • Minimum 5 years applicable business analysis experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above. SAP and manufacturing organization experience is required, as well as demonstrated ability to evaluate other technologies.
  • APICS exposure is a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of current IT technologies and state-of-the-art practices.  Must understand best practice for business processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to deliver informative, well-organized presentations. 
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
