Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Supervisor for our Insourcing Solutions site located in Cambridge, MA.

Your primary role, under the direction of the Charles River Operations Specialist, this position provides direction and leadership for the day-to-day operations of the animal facilities and program.  Maintains performance levels consistent with and according to client standards and requirements. Collaborates with veterinary staff to ensure that health and welfare of laboratory animals are maintained in compliance with local, state, federal and institutional guidelines and regulations. 

 

The following are minimum qualifications related to the Supervisor position:

  • Education:  Bachelor’s of Science in Animal Science or related field preferred.
  • Experience:  Two to four years husbandry experience in a laboratory animal facility of which six to twelve months is supervisory or management. Demonstrated successful experience in the breeding, care and husbandry of laboratory animal models required
  • Experience working with immunocompromised mice
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for the requirements as listed above.
  • Certification/Licensure:  AALAS certification at the Laboratory Animal Technician level (LAT) or higher or ability to successfully achieve LATG certification within one (1) year of hire/transfer required.
