Job Summary

Partner with the operating businesses to raise standards in key decision areas, taking a forward-looking and commercial view supported by a complete analysis toolkit to help articulate different options and influence decisions, resulting in a world-class business model with high performance results. Interprets, explains and drives performance within the business. Presents a dynamic industry, competitor and economic context. Supports and influences key operational and strategic decisions. Advises on key business planning assumptions, trade-offs and opportunities. Provides ad-hoc analysis and insights on specific issues to drive/improve performance. Prepares reports that outline the company's financial position in areas of income, expenses, capital and earnings based on past, present, and future operations. Reviews, analyzes, and interprets all financial, key indicators and budgetary reports making recommendations to management; directs preparation of budgets and financial forecasts; prepares necessary schedules and reports for corporate accounting.

We are seeking a Financial Analyst I for our Safety Assessment site located Ashland, OH.

Provides a basis for management planning, operating controls and financial performance appraisal.


The following are responsibilities related to the Financial Analyst I:

  • Assists in the analysis of financial data and extracts and defines relevant information; interprets data for the purpose of determining past financial performance and/or to project a financial probability.
  • Performs statistical, cost and financial analysis of data.
  • Assists in the development of financial reports for forecasting, trending and results analysis.
  • Records, classifies, and summarizes financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted accounting principals.
  • Helps gather information and assist in preparation of annual strategic plan and operating plans.
  • Prepares materials for presentation.
  • Applies a working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations; verifies documents for completeness and compliance.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.

The following are minimum qualifications related to the Financial Analyst I position:

  • Education:  Bachelor’s degree (B.A. /B.S.) or equivalent in Accounting or Finance or related discipline.
  • Experience:  Two to four years related experience and/or training.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
  • Certification:  None.

Other:  Excellent spreadsheet skills required.
